nuevo disco de estudio, 'The Root Of All Evil'.
(1996), “Stigmata” (1998) y “Burning Bridges” (1999), completamente regrabadas
algo nuevo, fresco y distinto.

The Elevators Drops; Rockets Burst from the streetlamps, Freezepop o Neptune

Rockets burst from the Streetlamps tambien trabajan en películas,
libros, ilustraciones infantiles y diversos espacios creativos. www.stodgy.com/rockets
In August of 1997, they began work on their debut album, recording to 24-track
at Prophet Sound with their producer Sean Drinkwater (of Lifestyle). To
skip ahead, fifteen months and too much crap-Chinese food later, it was
completed. It is titled "above a moving train" and is on Archenemy Records.
The official release was 21 February 1999 (Anais Nin's birthday). The band
celebrated by playing an extra-drunk show at O'Brien's at which a splendiferous
time was had by all.
They built a 12 by 12 foot soundproof brown box in which to practice in
the middle of their loft.
The
Rockets' debut cd, Above a Moving Train, with ultra-deluxe packaging was
released February 21, 1999. It was recorded in 1997 and 1998 at Prophet
under the loving producership of Sean T. Drinkwater. Special guests on
the album include Rick's sister Val doing some backing vocals and Jon Keay,
of The Ghost of Tony Gold, providing stand-up bass. Check out our catalog
section for ordering info. A new 7" will also be available soon. This 7"
will feature two new tracks, our live pop staple "The Cartographer" as
well as a studio creation "All the Same," which is, to say the least, a
unique creation. Look for this 7" this summer. cd cover design by Annie

Lifestyle
Boston, Paris, London
Belgica y Francia.
En 1998 publican con Archenemy Records, "At the risk of sounding pretentious
"At the risk of sounding pretentious "
CD
The
Archenemy Record Company is honoured to announce the official debut album
from Boston's brightest star in the pop music galaxy, Lifestyle. At the
risk of sounding pretentious marks a completely new genre, painstakingly
created from a diverse recipe of synth pop and lounge lizard croon, combined
with jet-set style and wit. The album is the exciting beginning of the
Lifestyle adventure, which celebrates the rise of new wave gods like Duran
Duran and the Human League, Burt Bacharachesque songwriting, and the breezy
70's pop of Wings and the Bee Gees. "No, for the millionth time, it's not
a joke," sighs singer Sean T. Drinkwater, "it's something special and new,
born out of a genuinely loving appreciation, OK? I really like synth pop,
and I'm not ashamed to admit it." In all areas of its sound and image (right
down to the parallelograms and polka dots of the cd cover), Lifestyle looks
to the past, and then turns around and marches into the future. The combo,
which ranges in size from its three core members, to the full, crowd-fainting,
deluxe adventure team of eleven "personalities," aims to do nothing more
than please the senses with their new exotic experience. Previously known
as Rudimentary Paste, the group is refocused and rejuvenated with both
life and style, and plans to tour in support of the new album as well as
release a non-album seven inch single on Washington, D.C.'s Teen Beat Records.
A collection of b-sides, remixes, live tracks, rarities, and covers will
follow as Companion, a bonus CD available while supplies last, with purchase
of At the risk of sounding pretentious . cd cover design by Jussi Gamache,

Studio Recordings/May MCMXCVII
is
the long-awaited debut CD by Neptune, a well-established local art/rock/noise
ensemble. The band have received much attention due to their instruments,
created out of scrap metal by vocalist/guitarist Jason Sanford. Works of
art in and of themselves, these instruments give Neptune a distinctive,
edgy sound. Neptune have two previous 7" recordings, a self-titled, self-released
single, and Swang, on Anti-Social Records, and several of their songs have
appeared on the Sublingual Records compilation Boston Underbelly. Archenemy
will also soon be releasing Studio Recordings/May MCMXCVII in a deluxe
limited-edition LP format, complete with handcrafted sheet metal sleeves.

The
summer of '99 was a hot one in Boston. Many fruity frozen treats were consumed.
The only way to relieve the heat was to form a synthpop band. Freezepop
is the union of Liz Enthusiasm, a stylish songstress with a cute chihuahua
and mob ties to The Archenemy Record Company and Lifestyle, the Duke of
Candied Apples, programmer extraordinaire of the qy-70 and bound concubine
to the Symbion Project, and the other Sean T. Drinkwater, a powerhouse
of synths and vocoder, who is often confused with the original Sean T.
Drinkwater (of Lifestyle, the Drop Dead Sweethearts, Veronica Black Morpheus
Nipple, The Archenemy Record Company, and numerous other musical associations),
but is actually his clone. Freezepop was born out of the glory dayz of
synth bands like Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, and the Human League, but has
its tentacles wrapped around the future. All the Freezepop songs are programmed
on a Yamaha qy-70, a portable handheld battery-powered sequencer. A typical
day in the life of a Freezepop song: Liz wakes up at the crack of dawn
and begins brewing a fresh pot of lyrics, sometimes innocent, sometimes
less-than-innocent, and sometimes in another language and making very little
sense. Meanwhile, the Duke drops the blippy drums off at school and swings
by the cleaners to get the synthpads chorused up for the dinner party.
Later in the day, the Other Sean is out walking the vocoder and stops by
the delicatessen for a fat bass sandwich. Later that evening after a long
day, the Duke tucks song into bed and goes to read the latest issue of
Scientific American.
